The Asian Energy Studies Centre (AESC) of the Hong Kong Baptist University, Department of Geography, was honoured to support the Hong Chi Association’s 60th Anniversary Open Day and Eco Charity Carnival—a vibrant celebration that welcomed over 800 participants to Pinehill Village for a day of learning, sharing, and building a low-carbon and inclusive community together.
AESC is thrilled to join the carnival by hosting an interactive booth to promote solar energy and low-carbon living. Our team introduced practical energy-saving tips and invited guests to experience infrared (IR) cameras—loved by visitors of all ages! The activity not only entertained but also offered a fresh perspective on heat distribution and energy efficiency.
We were delighted to receive positive feedback, with many expressing that they gained a deeper understanding of renewable energy and the impact of individual actions. These moments of discovery reinforce our shared commitment to nurturing a low-carbon and inclusive community, where sustainability becomes part of everyday life.
As part of the 60th anniversary festivities, the Hong Chi Association also welcomed guests to explore its schools and service units. The carnival featured 37 creatively designed booths, all using eco-friendly materials that echoed the event’s environmental theme.
AESC is deeply grateful to the Hong Chi Association for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event, and to celebrate six decades of dedication to inclusive education and care. Here's to building a greener, more compassionate future—together.
