The Asian Energy Studies Centre from the Hong Kong Baptist University Department of Geography visited Fung Kai No.1 Primary School with 20 students from the course GEOG3007 to support a STEM-focused energy workshop, serving around 110 Primary 5 students. The one-hour programme introduced the concept of a simplified home energy audit through interactive, hands-on activities.
During the workshop, HKBU students guided the children to observe everyday appliances, understand basic electricity use, and identify simple actions that help reduce energy consumption at home. The primary school students were also invited to become “home energy auditors,” encouraging them to review their families’ electricity use and explore practical steps for saving energy in their own households.
The session provided an engaging learning experience that strengthened students’ awareness of energy efficiency and empowered them to take meaningful, climate-friendly actions in daily life.
